A shed close to the boundary fence

Early this year I received a quote request from Steve for a shed for his van. He already had a shed on his property but he needed another shed to house his van.  After a site visit and consultation with Steve regarding council restrictions on boundary and combined size limits we found a suitable location for his proposed new shed.

Steve’s existing shed was within 400mm of his back boundary and he only had a narrow area on the side of his house for his new shed so it had to be built close to the side fence. To facilitate Building Approval I suggested he could build close to his side boundary (approx 200mm off the boundary) but would need to come at least 1.5m off the back boundary as he already had 9m of shed length close to that boundary.

Further negotiations continued and eventually Steve decided to go ahead with our company even though we were slightly dearer. The side boundary where the shed was to go had an existing 6 foot timber fence. Our options were to remove the fence to enable the builder to sheet the side wall or build the entire wall fully sheeted and stand it up.

As we use cast in brackets in all our slabs we had to change the style of bracket in the gable ends to facilitate standing the wall and sliding it into the brackets set in the slab. With the help of Steve, Nev the builder and myself we constructed the wall and stood it up. The build was completed and Steve Steve had a quality shed built exactly to his requirements.

Testimonial from Steve

Early in 2016 we decided to build another shed. We had an existing shed of 6 x 9 metres on the back boundary. We contacted three local shed companies for a quote.

We received three responses via email, two of which were one a one page document setting out price and purchase condition. The third quote was from Bundy Sheds and was a detailed quote setting out price, purchase conditions and technical drawings. This quote was the most expensive and by far the most professional in presentation and detail.

Peter was only too happy to come onsite and discuss our requirements and to provide information about what we could and could not do because of building regulations etc.

It seemed to us that if Bundy Sheds were prepared to put the extra into selling their product then they would be willing to put in the effort to supply and build a quality product. We accepted their quote.

Peter and Megan of Bundy Sheds did not disappoint us in any way with the initial contact, ongoing negotiations and final handover. A special mention to Nev the shed erector whose attention to detail and skill made the construction process faultless and produced a high quality product.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Bundy Sheds to any one looking to purchase a new shed.

Well done Bundy sheds.
