Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take until I get my shed?

Once your custom design is finalised, the order will be placed with the factory and turn-around is generally 4 weeks.   As Bundy Sheds manufactures to your exact specifications, most parts will be custom made, not just generic materials off a shelf. While the manufacturing process is occurring, we liaise with contractors and get your foundations and concrete slab completed so that once the materials are delivered to site our builders can start. This ensures an efficient time frame for your project.

Can Bundy Sheds supply and install a council approved shed?

Yes. Bundy Sheds can do as little or as much of the project as you require. Most customers don’t want the hassle of filling out council forms, designing site plans or liaising with sub contractors so most of our clients are happy for us to take care of everything, however if you wish to handle certain aspects of the project that’s fine. We are a QBCC licensed company, a member of Master Builders and ShedSafe accredited.

Why are some of our competitors kits apparently heavier?

Most shed suppliers use a software program to generate the materials list which should lead to an accurate weight overall weight.  However, our testing has shown that the kit weight cannot be used as a good indicator of how much steel is involved.  The kit-weight should only be used as guidance for freight calculations.

Why are Bundy Sheds quotes sometimes dearer than competitors?

Bundy Sheds aims to deliver a high quality product so that you will have years of carefree enjoyment of your purchase. We supply quality parts made of high quality material and we don’t take any shortcuts in the foundations, slab, construction or approval process.  We are proud to stand by our product and will not compromise the quality to achieve a lower price. That is why we chose to be ShedSafe accredited, so that you can be sure our engineering and your shed design is the best.

Why should I choose Bundy Sheds over other competitors?

Bundy Sheds has been operating in Bundaberg and the Wide Bay region for 40 years.  We have many years of experience delivering in the local area and we know what works and what doesn’t.  By buying from Bundy Sheds, you will have a face-to-face relationship with our team from start to finish.  We will leverage our local experience to ensure that you get something that will last the test of time (and weather).  Our aim is for every customer to be an advocate for our business.

Why don’t you have an online quote system?

Experience has shown that the final shed design can only really be achieved by consultation with the customer.  Our experienced staff can generally help you to achieve a better solution and one that takes into account all site constraints and opportunities.

Bundy Sheds also prides itself on being able to build a custom shed to the exact dimensions that you need.  Most online quoting systems will restrict you to large step increases in dimensions because that is a constraint of their shed designs.

What are the key elements that go into a quality shed?

It starts with the foundations and engineering. Because we are ShedSafe accredited our engineering is designed to give you a strong shed, built on solid foundations. We use pier footings (generally 450mm diameter and 1-1.2m deep under each portal frame), hot dipped gal cast in brackets for all portal frames, quality Australian steel, bracketed and bolted construction, extensively braced bays and a minimum of 0.42 BMT (base metal thickness) cladding for walls and roof unlike some shed companies.

 Why use Australian steel?

Bundy Sheds only uses Australian manufactured steel because we can be assured of its quality.  Quality steel not only meets the basic strength requirements, but also have other characteristics such as:

  • Toughness / Fatigue Resistance – the ability to resist failure from brittle fracture
  • Corrosion resistance – the composition of the steel and the durability of its coatings combine to  help resist environment degradation.

Bundy Sheds is often called out to sites where cheaper sheds have been installed to replace badly corroded or failed panels and structures.  We stand by the quality of our products and avoid using cheap, inferior products.

Can you provide maintenance and support?

Bundy Sheds will support you in the maintenance of all sheds; regardless of who supplied or built them.  Talk to us if you need help to repair, maintain or extend your current structure.
