Geoff and Elma contacted Bundy Sheds about a Carport for their van. At first they were confused about the design, council regulations and other aspects of the project receiving ambiguous information from various sources. They did have one important factor, plenty of clearance for their van. After a brief discussion, some measuring and a general overview of the site we came up with a concept which I believed would work. The carport was to go in front of their house and with a large van and a car to fit in they didn’t want any posts to encroach on the amount of usable space. We used a cranked post option (posts which go up the house wall, under the eave and then up past the gutter which ensured maximum usable space. The carport roof also had to project over the house roof (front and side of their house) which made for some interesting modifications. Geoff and Elma also wanted extra concreting such as widening the driveway and a slab for a rainwater tank. They didn’t want the hassle of contacting contractors so Bundy Sheds organised everything.
Once the posts were in the next important factor was making sure Geoff was happy with the clearance. He parked his van in the carport area and we ran a string line from post to post to make sure he was happy with the height. They had been burnt before with another company promising clearance but failing to deliver. It may seem like a trivial thing but making sure the customer could see what he was getting was important to us. Anyway as the build progressed Geoff and Elma finally started to see the design come to light. Sometimes the abstract designs I have in my head are hard for clients to understand until they become reality. Anyway Geoff and Elma got their carport and Bundy Sheds delivered what they had promised.
